Broken wheat (dalia) Kheer Recipe(step by step recipe)

Prep Time: 2 min     Cook Time: 15 min        Serves: 2 

Main Ingredients: Broken wheat (dalia), ghee and milk
Cuisine: India

Ingredients:

  • 1 Tablespoon ghee or unsalted butter
  • ½ cup broken wheat (Dalia)
  • 500 ml milk
  • Sugar or brown jaggery (Gur) to taste
  • 1/4 Cup Dry Fruits as per your choice (optional)
  • 1/2 Cup water
  • Pinch Saffron (optional)


Heat ghee in a heavy and deep pan and add Dalia over medium flame.

Sauté till fragrant.

Add water and milk to the roasted dalia and stir to mix. 


   Cook for another 5 minutes over medium heat. 


    Add saffron and mix well and cook for 2 minutes.
    Add sugar and chopped dry fruits mix well. 


    It should be creamy.
    Garnish with fruits and dry fruits and serve.
