Onion & Tomato Paratha Recipe
Prep Time: 10 min Cook Time: 15-20 min Serves: 6 parathas
Main Ingredients: Whole Wheat Flour, tomato and onion.
Ingredients:
- 1.5 cup whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta)
- ¼ cup wheat flour (gehun ka atta) for rolling
- ½ cup onion paste
- 1 cup tomato pulp/puree
- 1 teaspoon ginger paste
- 1 teaspoon garlic paste
- 2 teaspoon chopped coriander (dhania)
- Chili powder to taste
- 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds powder to taste (jeera)
- Salt to taste
- Oil for greasing
Method:
- Heat the oil in a pan, add the Cumin seeds powder.
- Add ginger garlic paste sauté till 2 minutes on medium flame.
- Add onions paste and sauté till the onions turn golden brown.
- Add the tomatoes paste and salt mix well and cook till tomatoes become soft.
- Add the green chilies, turmeric, red chili powder, mix well and cook until the mixture becomes thick and starts leaving oil.
- Add the coriander, mix well and take away from the flame.
- Allow it Cool completely.
- In a deep bowl take the wheat flour and onion tomato paste and mix well and Knead into a smoth dough using enough water if necessary.
- Divide the dough into 6 equal portions.
- Roll the roti into a 6” diameter circle using whole wheat flour for rolling.
- Heat a tava (griddle) and grease it evenly using a little oil.
- Cook the paratha, using a little oil, till it turns golden brown in color from both the sides.
- Repeat steps to make 5 more parathas.
- Serve hot.
