Ingredients:

  • 1.5 cup whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta)
  • ¼ cup wheat flour (gehun ka atta) for rolling
  • ½ cup onion paste
  •  1 cup tomato pulp/puree
  • 1 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 1 teaspoon garlic paste
  • 2 teaspoon chopped coriander (dhania)
  • Chili powder to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds powder to taste (jeera) 
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for greasing 

 Method:

  1. Heat the oil in a pan, add the Cumin seeds powder.
  2. Add ginger garlic paste sauté till 2 minutes on medium flame.
  3. Add onions paste and sauté till the onions turn golden brown.
  4. Add the tomatoes paste and salt mix well and cook till tomatoes become soft.
  5. Add the green chilies, turmeric, red chili powder, mix well and cook until the mixture becomes thick and starts leaving oil.
  6. Add the coriander, mix well and take away from the flame.
  7. Allow it Cool completely.
  8. In a deep bowl take the wheat flour and onion tomato paste and mix well and Knead into a smoth dough using enough water if necessary.
  9. Divide the dough into 6 equal portions.
  10. Roll the roti into a  6” diameter circle using whole wheat flour for rolling.
  11. Heat a tava (griddle) and grease it evenly using a little oil.
  12. Cook the paratha, using a little oil, till it turns golden brown in color from both the sides.
  13. Repeat steps to make 5 more parathas.
  14. Serve hot.
