Drain and grind to a coarse paste using very little water.
In another pan heat 1/2 cup of milk and Add pinch of saffron and mix well .Switch off heat.
Heat sugar and 1 cup water in another non-stick pan. Cook till sugar dissolves completely.
Heat ghee in a broad pan melts the ghee. Add moong dal paste and mix well. Stir the mixture continuously on a low flame till it becomes golden brown.
Add in the warm milk and 1 cup of warm water mix and cook, stirring continuously till all the moisture has been absorbed, cook on a slow flame till the ghee separates.
Add the cardamom powder and saffron milk and mix well cook for 5-8 minutes.
