Ingredients:
- 250 grams Jackfruit seeds
- 100 grams Mawa (Khoya)
- 2 tablespoon Ghee
- Sugar to taste
- Few Saffron strands
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon sliced Cashew Nuts
- 1 tablespoon Raisins
- ¼ teaspoon Cardamom powder
- 1 tablespoon sliced Almonds
Preparation:
- Wash the jack fruit seeds and boil them in a cooker.
- Allow them cool and then peel their skin.
- Grind the peeled seeds in the grinder.
- Add saffron strands in milk and keep it aside.
Method:
- Heat 1 tablespoon of ghee in a heavy bottom frying pan and heat it.
- Then place the ground jackfruit seeds in the hot ghee and stir on low flame, till they become light brown.
- Add the mawa and mix well, cook for another 5-10 minutes.
- Add saffron milk, sugar, cashew nuts and raisins in the halwa, while stirring.
- When the halwa gets proper thick consistency, turn off the flame.
- Add and mix the remaining ghee and cardamom in the halwa.
- Serve the jackfruit halwa in a bowl and garnish it with the sliced almonds and cashew nuts.
