Prep Time: 35 min   Cook Time: 30 min    serves: 2-3

  • Main Ingredient: Maida, Carom seeds, and ghee/butter
  • Recipe Type: snacks
  • Cuisine: Indian

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all purpose flour/Refined flour (Maida)
  • 1.5 tablespoon clarified butter (ghee)
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon Carom seeds (ajwain)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Chat Masala
  • Oil/ ghee to deep fry

Method:


Take out Maida in a plate and add Oil/ghee, salt, Carom seeds to it, Mix them well.

Mix it with Luke warm water. 
Keep the dough aside covered for 20-25 minutes.



Divide the dough into equal parts and make balls of it.





    Take one ball and roll it into 1/2 inch thick disc on a rolling board.

    Cut this roll into small squares and separate each piece.
    Repeat the step with other balls.





    Take a pan and heat oil or ghee to fry.
    Put the cut pieces into the pan and deep fry them.

    Take them out with the help of perforated spoon once they turn Brown in color.
    Drain the Namak Pare on paper napkins to remove excess oil.

    Fry rest of the Namak Pare and sprinkle Chat masala on them.

    Serve the Namak Pare with tea or coffee.
